How to eSign a Document with Your Selected Style for Your Signature

A comprehensive guide on the process of e-signing a document, with a particular focus on utilizing and applying a user's chosen signature style.


Understanding Signature Styles

Systweak eSign offers flexible options for creating your electronic signature. Before signing, it is helpful to understand the three main styles available to you:

Legal Validity

Whether you choose to type, draw, or upload your signature, all styles provided by Systweak eSign carry the same legal validity and enforceability under global e-signature laws.

  • Selected Style (Typed): Choose from a variety of pre-generated cursive fonts that match your name. This is the fastest and most common method.
  • Drawn: Use your mouse, trackpad, or touch screen to draw your actual handwritten signature.
  • Uploaded: Upload a scanned image of your wet-ink signature for a personalized touch.

Choosing or Creating Your Signature

When you first open a document and navigate to a required signature field, you will be prompted to create or select your identity.

  1. Click on any yellow Sign tag within the document.
  2. The "Adopt Your Signature" dialog box will appear.
  3. Verify that your Full Name and Initials are spelled correctly in the top fields.
  4. Navigate between the tabs at the top of the dialog to explore styles:
    • Click Select Style to browse font variations.
    • Click Draw to use the signature pad.
    • Click Upload to choose a file from your computer.

Applying the Signature to the Document

Once you have selected a style that suits your preference, you are ready to apply it to the document.

By clicking Adopt and Sign, I agree that the signature and initials will be the electronic representation of my signature and initials for all purposes when I (or my agent) use them on documents, including legally binding contracts.

To finalize your selection:

  1. Review the signature preview in the center of the dialog.
  2. Read the consumer disclosure statement at the bottom.
  3. Click the Adopt and Sign button. Your signature will instantly populate the field and any subsequent fields you click in this session.

Editing Signature Appearance

If you change your mind about your signature style while reviewing the document, you can easily modify it before finishing.

  • Locate a field you have already signed on the document page.
  • Click directly on the signature graphic.
  • The "Adopt Your Signature" dialog will reopen, allowing you to select a different style, redraw, or upload a new image.
  • Clicking Adopt and Sign again will update all instances of your signature in the current document to match the new style.

Finalizing the Signed Document

After applying your signature to all required fields, you must complete the document to make the transaction official. Here is what happens next:

You will receive an email containing a link to the final PDF copy of the signed document.

A secure Certificate of Completion is generated, logging the IP address and time stamp of your signature.

The sender is immediately notified that the document has been successfully signed.

Secure Storage

The document is encrypted and stored in your Systweak eSign dashboard for future reference.
